The Gift of the Magi
A Wonderful Christmas Production
With hearts all-a-bustle with holiday spirit and nostalgia, The Gift of the Magi, a Christmas play put on by the Grace Lutheran Drama Ministry group is a perfect fit if you’re looking to stop, listen and capture the feeling of the Christmas season. The Gift of the Magi, originally by O. Henry, will be performed this weekend at Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester.
The play is under the direction of Greta Johnson, who’s been involved with this at the church for eight years now. The cast has been planning and rehearsing since October and is very enthusiastic about its performance.
The Gift of the Magi celebrates the true gift of Christmas – love for one another, not material things. The story is brought to life through a young couple who forfeits things very dear to them to buy the other a Christmas gift, which ultimately brings more despair than the comfort and joy of one another.
The Gift of the Magi will be performed December 4 through 6 with shows on Friday night at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are reasonably priced and are available in advance or at the door. Call 836-2382 for more information.
