Dick Sharratt Retires
from Village of Winneconne Public Works Department
Dick Sharratt, a 39-year veteran of the village of Winneconne Department of Public Works, was recognized for his years of service at the last village board meeting of 2011. Sharratt is set to retire on January 5, 2012 from his position as foreman for the village.
John Rogers, village president, presented Sharratt with a plaque acknowledging his years of service and thanked him for his hard work, “The village just lost a lot of knowledge…it’s hard to believe it has been 39 years.”
Sharratt, himself, thanked the board and commented, “It’s kind of sad that it’s all over, but I feel like I left it all on the table. I didn’t realize how much I really missed Jack [Spiegelberg]. It’s funny, years ago I knew everybody in town, now I just know who used to live where. This village gave me the opportunity to raise two kids. I’m proud to be part of Winneconne.”
The village will hire a new DPW employee to fill Sharratt’s absence and join the rest of the crew.
