Chris Hardy Joins Village
as New Public Works Director
Chris Hardy started work as the new public works director for the village of Winneconne on December 1. Hardy will train with the interim director, Gary Marks, until spring when Marks slips back into retirement mode. Hardy hails from Omro and has over 20 years experience in the public works field to bring to this new role.
Hardy is a licensed engineer and was previously self-employed in Omro and worked closely with the public works department there. His company, Hardy Inc., worked in environmental construction, surveying, ground water treatment, and parks and trails construction. With a college degree in mining engineering, he says a lot of the concepts are similar, so the learning curve will be a bit easier.
Living in Omro, Hardy and his wife, Carol, are familiar with Winneconne and excited to make the move in this direction. Hardy has a full plate to welcome him to Winneconne as well. The village is currently working on some modifications to some of the tree streets on the west side and also some major upgrades to its waste water treatment facility.
