Car Show

Dresses Up Main Street

By Becky LaDue
Staff Writer, The Winneconne News

The 2009 Winneconne Car Show was held Saturday downtown on Main Street and drew a good number of cars for show considering the weather was almost miserable. Organizers did a nice job handling the event with great oldies to sing along with while making the circuit. Of course, great food was on tap to help keep folks warm.

Trophies were handed out in four classes; stock, 1959 and older, stock 1960 and newer, non-stock 1959 and older, and non-stock 1960 and newer. There was a trophy for the “furthest distance traveled” also, which came from Illinois this year. Seventy-seven vehicles registered in the car show this year, down significantly from last year – blamed solely on Mother Nature.
